Listen to a Life Essay Contest

Looking for a great project to promote intergenerational contact at your school or library? The Legacy Project, a multigenerational education initiative sponsored by the nonprofit group Generations United, is inviting young people ages eight to 18 to enter the Listen to a Life Essay Contest. What's required? Just interview anyone who's at least 50 years old about their life experiences, and submit a 300-word essay reflecting on that conversation.
What can you win? The grand prize is a Lenovo ThinkCentre computer and an iPod nano loaded with Orchard Software-plus the winner's school will get an additional $25,000 of Orchard software. And there are 20 runners-up prizes, including MP3 players. Entries must be received by March 31, so get moving.
