The Internet Guide to Jazz Age Slang - This site will give you all the "skinny" on slang words of the 20's and 30's.

The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History - Primary Sources are documents that are written, compiled and/or composed or spoken by the people who actually lived during a particular time. Here are a number of great resources. Look at the song lyrics for a trip down someone else's memory lane.

Wessels Living History Farm - Listen to these first hand accounts of what it was like to live through the Dust Bowl.

American Life Histories: Manuscripts from the Federal Writers Project (1936-1940) -  This site also provides first hand accounts. Type in "breadline" in the search field to view interviews of  real people who suffered during the time.
